About Pars

The Pars Music Group was established in 1985 with the mission of preserving and promoting children’s music while developing innovative methods in this field. Among its key activities are organizing Orff music classes for children and adolescents and training instructors across Iran. This initiative aims to foster a deep appreciation and understanding of music from a young age.

Founded by Naser Nazar, who is also the creator of the celebrated work “World of Joy,” the Pars Music Group has made substantial contributions to the musical landscape in Iran. In 1992, Nazar formed the country’s first youth symphony orchestra, demonstrating his commitment to nurturing young talent. He has consistently emphasized the importance of training music instructors for children, recognizing it as a vital element in the development of music education in Iran.

The Pars Music Group has been an active participant in the Fajr Music Festival and has celebrated World Children’s Day annually since 2001, showcasing their dedication to children’s music and cultural events. Nazar’s visionary leadership has solidified the group’s reputation as a cornerstone of musical education and innovation in Iran.

Naser Nazar

The Pars Music Group was founded in 1985 by Naser Nazar. He began his musical journey in 1971 by attending Orff classes at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. In 1976, he learned to play the clarinet and piano at the Music Workshop of National Radio and Television of Iran.

After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he began teaching Orff music at the Music Workshop. In 1986, he formed the Orff Instructors Group and later, in 1990, he established the Pars Orchestra and Pars Choir. Since then, this orchestra has performed at the annual Fajr Music Festival, World Children’s Day, and various other events, earning awards and commendations. In 1992, Naser founded the first Youth Symphony Orchestra and published the book “World of Joy” along with the CDs “World of Joy” and “Song of Joy” to support instructors, students, and music enthusiasts. Two years later, he released the CD “Little Song for Awakening.” He studied orchestral conducting under the late master Heshmat Sanjari and in 1995, attended a master class with Professor Schumacher in Switzerland to enhance his knowledge in managing youth orchestras. In recent years, he has participated in several international seminars and master classes, including: – International Orff Conference AOSA, California, Alabama, and Birmingham (2004, 2005) – Orff Conference and Master Class AOSA, Nebraska (USA), 2006 – Mosaic Conference, Melbourne (VOSA), Australia 2008 – ISME Conference, Bologna, Italy, July 2008 – Orff Conference and Master Class AOSA, USA, November 2008 – Orff Conference and Master Class AOSA, Milwaukee (USA), 2009 – OSASA Conference, Australia (VOSA), January 2010 – International Orff Conference AOSA, Spokane, Washington, November 2010 – International Orff Society Meeting, Orff Institute Salzburg – Austria, July 2011 – ISME Conference, Thessaloniki, Greece, July 2012 – Orff Conference and Master Class AOSA, USA, New Jersey, 2016 Teaching Orff music to instructors and enthusiasts in Tehran and other cities is also one of his key activities. The Pars Music School has been recognized as the top music school and has received commendations in all free art school festivals.

Nami Nazar
Nami Nazar, age 18, is an Iranian Composer/Violinist based in New York. He is currently studying violin at the college division of the Juilliard School as a student in Naoko Tanaka’s studio. Nami is a prize winner of various competitions, including the National Youth Music Festival in Iran.
He has given numerous performances as a soloist and chamber musician in venues such as the Alice Tully Hall (Lincoln Center), the Peter Jay Sharp, the Paul Hall, and the Wilson Theater (The Juilliard School), the Vahdat Hall, and the Niavaran Cultural Center (Tehran, Iran). Nami has performed as a concertmaster and soloist with the Tehran Music Conservatory’s Orchestra at the Fajr International Music Festival. He is currently performing in the Juilliard’s Orchestra and has performed as an assistant principal with the Juilliard Pre-college Symphony Orchestra. His recent masterclass appearances have been with Khullip Jeung at the Juilliard School and Igor Petrushevski in Tehran. In the summers of 2021 and 2022, Nami attended the Meadowmount School of Music where he performed numerous solo and chamber music concerts. As a multifaceted musician, Nami pursues a strong interest in composing and conducting. He has had the privilege of composing for and conducting the Pars Symphony Orchestra in Iran and has participated in conducting masterclasses with distinguished conductors such as Shahrdad Rohani (Former Tehran Symphony Orchestra director). In his first year as a bachelor’s student, his piece was performed by his peers in a course. Passionate about the music of Iran (his homeland) and the musical instruments from that region, Nami enjoys writing works that integrate Iranian traditional music with film scoring. He is currently an arranger and composer for the Pars Music Institute in Iran. Growing up in a musical environment, Nami has learned to play different instruments such as the piano, accordion, ney, and tombak (Iranian instruments), euphonium, trumpet, and saxophone. His goal as an aspiring film composer is to bring Persian music into film scoring in Hollywood and become the most renowned Iranian-born film scorer.
